So not only did you teach me about writing memoir, you also taught me about reading and thinking about how others write memoir. Thank you so much! Rebecca

2016
Publish Your Writing
Tri-County Community College
Instructor: Glenda C. Beall

You have learned the writing craft and you are ready to submit your work for publication.

This class is for anyone who needs advice and tips on finding the  best place to send poetry or short pieces of prose. We hope to help new writers  become knowledgeable about the frauds and scams in the publishing world so they don't fall victim to unscrupulous people and companies who take advantage of novice writers.

We will discuss what small presses look for and how to find one for your book. Why pay to publish your book when so many small presses are doing the same thing the big boys have always done, and no matter who with or how you publish, you still have to market your book.

Questions you should ask before you publish your book - If you don't know what to ask, you might not get what you need.

Attend this workshop to get some of your questions answered from an experienced published writer. There will be an additional $5 fee for handouts. 3 hrs.

Saturday, July 23,   10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
Fee: $25

If you are interested in writing family/personal life stories – those significant tales of adventure, transition, love, loss, and triumph, as well as the lovely everyday moments shared with loved ones from the past or the present, come learn specific tools and techniques to retrieve and record them.

Students will write a short piece each week. This class is structured for intermediate or advanced students who have completed at least one writing class. 12 hrs.
